- Jaap Voeten (1963) obtained his master’s degree in
Development Economics (specializing in small business) at Wageningen University
and the University of Amsterdam. He has worked as a technical advisor in
Indonesia, Cambodia, Yemen and Vietnam, gaining hands-on experience in small
business, entrepreneurship promotion and institutional development projects.
His long-term experience in Vietnam, where he lived and worked closely with small producers in rural areas, provides the basis of his PhD thesis. The research became part of the NWO's ‘Responsible Innovation’ thematic research program at the Development Research Institute (IVO) of Tilburg University. After completing the PhD, he is now pursuing further research in responsible innovation for development at the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM).
